Anna Swan Acting

I'm from Beverley, a town in East Yorkshire, but left for London at 18 to follow a path in the arts and never looked back...although I have moved back to the North, now living in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

I've been a professional actor since 2010, graduating from East 15 Acting school with a BA(hons) in Acting. I absolutely loved my training, and East 15 is where I also started teaching the Youth Theatre Programme on weekends and school holidays. This teaching of younger actors really ignited in me a passion for teaching and nurturing talent and creativity. From 2017 - 2023 I also ran a children's theatre company Northern Core Theatre, focusing on improvisation and devising and overall confidence building in children. It was with a heavy heart that my business partner and I decided to stop running our workshops due to other work commitments, but we had the best five years and learned so much from the kids we taught over the years.

My main body of work is screen, however theatre is my first love and what made me want to train as an actor. I have worked on some fantastic TV series including The Stranger (Netflix) Dracula (BBC), Boiling Point (BBC) and Daddy Issues (BBC) and I’ve featured in numerous commercials.

Teaching acting is a real passion for me. I love working with creative people, storytellers, collaborators, thoughtful and inquisitive actors, helping them reach their full potential. I work with actors of any age, all striving to achieve different things, and whether that be nailing an audition, learning how to self tape, understanding how to build a character or just feeling more confident than the day before, I aim to guide, teach and encourage from a place of experience and shared love for performing.
